Interview
U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Washington) will be among the chief authors of any new legislation to reform FAA’s aircraft certification process resulting from the various investigations into the Boeing 737 MAX. As chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation, Larsen has spearheaded the panel’s MAX investigation alongside full committee chairman Peter DeFazio (D-Oregon). Larsen spoke with Aviation Week’s Congressional and Regulatory Editor Ben Goldstein in Washington, D.C. recently about next steps for the committee’s MAX investigation and possible legislative fixes that could prevent similar mishaps from happening in the future.
